Ulo – The Interactive Home Owl

Owls can turn their heads 270 degrees, which allows them to see almost everything around them. A French designer used this wise bird’s image to create an interactive home monitoring system that can be used from anywhere in the world. Ulo is a cute, owl-like surveillance camera that connects to a mobile phone and communicates with eye expressions.

Eye expressions are an efficient, natural and universal way to connect instantly with Ulo,’ said Vivien Muller, inventor and designer of the gadget. ‘No logos or icons are displayed on the screens, but you instantly know what Ulo has in mind.’ The device has a two-way mirror that looks like a beak and covers Ulo’s night-vision equipped camera and built-in motion sensor.
